“And always give thanks to God the Father for all things, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ” (Ephesians 5:20).
Disruptions in daily life are not uncommon. Sometimes you can spend a day as you talk.
There are many ways to avoid these things.. Our plans are repeatedly thwarted by influences beyond our control.
The list is long and ever-changing: illness, disputes, traffic jams, forgetfulness, faultless tools, rude behavior, laziness, impatience, incompetence, and so on.
Give thanks to God
However, what we cannot see is the opposite side of the barrier. I think it has no other purpose than to make life very difficult, and frustrate our plans.
In any case, such obstacles may be God’s means of protection from unseen danger, or they may be an opportunity to demonstrate God’s grace and forgiveness.

It may be the beginning of something better than the scheme we have prepared. Or it could be a test to see how we respond in times of trouble. However, even if we do not know God’s purpose, we can be sure that he intends to prepare us to be like Jesus and to advance his Kingdom on earth.
